Best Cities to Live In

It is difficult to make a list of the world’s best cities, but most people will agree that the following cities deserve to be on the list:

Toronto, Canada

This is the largest city in Canada.  Toronto  is also one of the most populous cities in North America. The economy of this city makes up nearly 1/5 of the country’s GDP. Many immigrants come to live here every year. More than 2,500,000 people live in Toronto, but the city is not overcrowded. Toronto is one of the safest cities in the world, which makes it very attractive to foreigners who want to move to Canada with their families.

Ottawa, Canada

This city is home to foreign embassies and federal agencies of Canada. It is also known for its numerous research centers.  Ottawa  has a high standard of living, but the cost of living is not too high. It is a multicultural center, with nearly 1,300,000 inhabitants (in its metropolitan area). Ottawa is one of the cleanest places in the world.

Wellington, New Zealand

Great climate, beautiful nature, excellent education system, and high standard of living make  Wellington  one of the best places to live. With nearly 400,000 people, Wellington is the most populous urban area in the country. It is the country’s cultural and political center. The cost of living in Wellington is not too high, and real estate prices are also reasonable.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Although the city has been known as immigrant-friendly for decades, its reputation is now different. Still,  Amsterdam  is a great place for tourists and foreign workers. It is known for liberal lifestyle and dynamic nightlife. Amsterdam is also one of the safest cities in the world.

Sydney, Australia

Sydney  is a major economic, business and cultural center, with beautiful metropolitan area, surrounded by rivers, parks, beaches and bays. Nearly half of the biggest Australian companies have their headquarters in Sydney. The city has hosted some of the greatest international sport events like the Summer Olympics (2000), The Rugby World Cup (2003) and the British Empire Games (1938).

Bern, Switzerland

Bern  is one of the most expensive cities in Europe, but it is also one of the best places to live. “The old Bern” is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most of Bern’s historic features, like towers, arcades, narrow streets and sandstone facades are very well preserved. Bern is composed of 43 municipalities. The metropolitan area has more than 660,000 inhabitants.

Vienna, Austria

Vienna is the political, economic and cultural center of Austria and the largest city by population. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, and nearly 5,000,000 tourists visit the city every year. Vienna has a great historical importance for the entire Europe. It has been one of the greatest European political centers for centuries. Vienna has a high standard of living, but  the cost of living  is also very high.
